Obamacare .Gov Website Getting Fixed

President Obama today announced his displeasure with the problems of the .gov website that handles registrations for affordable health care plans.  You can imagine president Obama is not pleased with how the sign up process has rolled out, since the affordable care act is his primary legislation and has become synonymous with his name “Obamacare”. In his new conference today he mentions the .gov website has been visited over 20 million times, which is a staggering number when the site officially launched in the beginning of October.  You would have thought that the IT personnel in charge of launching this site would have designed and tested the site to handle millions of visitors.  However, it seems all their testing was not enough to identify possible issues and correct them before the launch date. In any event, I’m sure they will get things running smoothly and people will be able to register for affordable health care plans via the site.  Keep in mind that each of the participating states have their own websites dedicated to registering for plans available by the affordable health care act.  Check out yours today to see what type of healthcare coverage is available in your...

Drinking and Driving – Just Don’t Do It

Here are some statistics on drunk driving in America: In 2010, 10,228 people were killed in alcohol-impaired driving crashes, accounting for nearly one-third (31%) of all traffic-related deaths in the United States. Of the 1,210 traffic deaths among children ages 0 to 14 years in 2010, 211 (17%) involved an alcohol-impaired driver. Of the 211 child passengers ages 14 and younger who died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes in 2010, over half (131) were riding in the vehicle with the alcohol-impaired driver. In 2010, over 1.4 million drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.  That’s one percent of the 112 million self-reported episodes of alcohol-impaired driving among U.S. adults each year. Drugs other than alcohol (e.g., marijuana and cocaine) are involved in about 18% of motor vehicle driver deaths. These other drugs are often used in combination with alcohol. You can find more statistics and information at the CDC government website: http://www.cdc.gov/motorvehiclesafety/impaired_driving/impaired-drv_factsheet.html The facts and statistics should be enough to deter anyone from drinking and driving.  Unfortunately, everyday in America people will drink too much and get behind the wheel of a vehicle and endanger their life as well as that of others.  The most common comment from people who drink and drive is “I thought I was fine to drive”.  Most available information shows that having just a few drinks in a relatively short period of time is enough to impair your driving abilities.  So, for your sake and the sake of others, be sure to have a designated driver or get a ride home the next time you are out drinking. Orange County CA Business Outlook 2013

After reading the OC Small Business Outlook 2013 article I still don’t have a real good idea of what the overall business climate is for Orange County.  It seems some experts expect a continued drag on the OC economy caused by healthcare concerns, others feel it will begin to grow, while others believe it will remain flat. However, I have to agree with Leila Mozaffari‘s comment “Small-business owners who are open to continuously examining and evolving their business model, practices, products, services and target customers tend to be more successful. For these small businesses, 2013 looks much rosier than for others.” because this is the real crux of any sustainable business.  As a business owner you must adapt to current business conditions in order to maintain and grow your business.  How many times have we seen “old” business models crumble, or new technologies making certain businesses obsolete? No matter what type of business you operate, it is critical to adjust to market conditions and your competition.  One area that has greatly changed over the past few years is using the Internet to market to potential customers and clients.  Almost everyone goes online now days to find local businesses, products, or services.  A report showed that there are over 3 billion searches a month on Google alone. If you want to get ahead and stay ahead of your Orange County competition, then you better have a solid online marketing strategy.  Using a professional SEO services company that provides expert Orange County SEO services is critical in today’s business climate.   T3SEO is an online Internet marketing firm that helps businesses grow using online marketing techniques.  They specialize in Portland SEO, San Jose SEO, as well as lawyer...
