Elderly Man Passes Away After Crashing Into Electric Pole in San Bernardino

Early Friday morning San Bernardino Police responded to an accident that occurred near the 700 block of East Central Avenue.  The driver was identified as 63-year-old Alex Robles of San Bernardino. Apparently he had suffered a medical emergency that cause his to swerve off the road and collide with a power pole. Authorities stated that Alex was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  It was investigators were uncertain if the medical issue caused him to crash resulting in his death. San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, Fire Department, and Police Department are all still investigation. Officer Cervantes stated that car accident has caused more deaths than homicides.  In this year alone, 25 people have lost their lives in fatal accidents. Massive Storm In San Bernardino Traps Cyclists & Causes 14-car pileup on Interstate 40

Various storms in San Bernardino have led to a massive accident on Interstate 40 as well as trapping a large group of cyclist.  Capt. John Walkins of the San Bernardino County Fire Department reported that it all started around 10:00 a.m. when high wind gusts created a blinding dust storm in an area the I-40, causing 10 big rigs and four cars to crash.  The visibility was little to none, authorities couldn’t even see each other upon arriving on scene.  Paramedics transported nine motorists to a local medical center where they were treated for minor injuries. Conditions were so bad that California Highway Patrol had to shut down I-40 for over 2 hours.  About two hours after the big collision took place, a large group of cyclist participating in the Tour de Big Bear was stuck on the Onyx Summit, which is a 8,443-foot peak when they were hit bit the storm. Multiple bicyclists had reports of severe cramping and hypothermia, and they were later taken back to race officials.  Luckily, no one seriously injury that day. Vehicular Crash Causes Power Outage in Virginia Beach

A vehicle crash Sunday evening on Great Neck Road and London Bridge Road caused a power outage affecting thousands of Dominion Power customers. Virginia Beach dispatch confirmed the crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. No injuries were reported. About 4,577 customers were initially without power, according to Dominion Power’s website. By 10:15 p.m. Dominion was reporting less than 100 customers without power. Power was restored to all customers overnight. Crews moved north along the line, manually switching customers to a different power circuit until they located the problem. This area is home to many of the hotels, bars and restaurants on the Oceanfront. The intersection of Great Neck Road and London Bridge Road was closed and reopened shortly after 10 a.m. Monday. Teenager Dies In Wrong Way Collision

In Northampton County an 18-year-old woman was killed during a two-vehicle head-on crash on the Eastern Shore Tuesday morning. Virginia State Police say April Lynn Zell of Wallops Island was speeding and was going the wrong way on Route 13 around 4:45 a.m. when she ran into a 2005 Mitsubishi Gallant. Her car burst into flames and Zell died later at the scene. The driver of the Mitsubishi, 48-year-old Juan Carlos Mendoza Garcia of Hallwood, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The woman with him was flown to the hospital as well. Zell was a recent graduate of Chincoteague High School, where she played softball and volleyball. 2 Fatalities in Goochland Crash

Virginia State Police are investigating a crash that killed a man and a woman in Goochland County Virginia on August 8th. The two victims have been identified as Gregory M. Robinson, 40 from Henrico County and Liann N. Fazenbaker, 32 and from Goochland County. Virginia State Troopers tell us sometime after 11:30 p.m. Friday the vehicle ran off the road, hitting a guardrail. The 2004 Honda went airborne then went down an embankment near Broad Street and Cloverfield Lane. One of the occupants was partially ejected. “The vehicle then went airborne striking several trees and coming to rest down an embankment partially ejecting one of the occupants,” Sgt. Steve Vick, a spokesman for Virginia State Police, said. Victims died at the scene, and investigators said the two occupants were not wearing seat belts. Speed is being considered a factor in the crash which remains under investigation. Car Flips Near Colonial Heights

A motorist sustained minor injures Wednesday morning in Colonial Heights after a collision that caused the vehicle to flip onto its roof. The crash happened around 9:16 a.m. in the 2100 block of Walthall Center Drive, in front of the Colonial Honda of Richmond.
