Vacation and Weekend Trip Ideas

If you enjoy the outdoors and spectacular natural vistas then you have to take a trip to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.  The parks are located in the Southern Sierra Nevada mountain range northeast of Los Angeles.  Combined, the parks cover over eight hundred thousand acres and a wide variety of unique plant and animal species.

It is estimated the the parks are home to 1/3 of all natural sequoia trees on the planet.  The General Grant giant sequoia tree is the largest known tree in the world standing over 290 feet tall.  In addition, the parks are home to 3 of the 10 oldest tree species in the world.

The parks offers many wonderful and relaxing outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, camping, swimming and many other activities.  There are RV campgrounds, vacation home rentals and other lodging near Sequoia National Park.
